Akpabio Fires Three Commissioners, One Special Adviser

Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio took his cabinet by surprise on Monday when he sacked three commissioners and one special adviser.

This is the second time this year that the governor would be sacking members of his cabinet.

A statement by Mr. Aniekan Umanah, the Commissioner for Information and Communications in the state said the sack of the affected cabinet members was with immediate effect and that the action was a minor cabinet reshuffle.

According to the statement, those affected include the commissioners for Transport, Austin Mbeh; Economic Development, Sunny Anyang; Commerce and Industry, Martins Udoinyang.

The statement also said the governor fired the Special Adviser, Sports and Youth Development, Samuel Frank. According to the statement, the governor expressed appreciation to those affected for their services to the state and wished them success in their future endeavours
